SOBRE MI
fotógrafa y artista visual con más de 20 años de trayectoria, cuya práctica se desarrolla en torno al retrato y una exploración íntima de la identidad Y la experiencia cotidiana. Su trabajo se caracteriza por una mirada en la que combina sensibilidad documental con una aproximación contemporánea a la imagen.
Formada entre Argentina, Londres y Estados Unidos, su práctica ha estado profundamente influenciada por estos distintos contextos culturales. Se graduó del programa de Visual Journalism and Documentary Practice del International Center of Photography (ICP) de Nueva York y posteriormente continuó desarrollando su carrera fotográfica en Los Ángeles.
A lo largo de su trayectoria, su obra ha sido publicada en medios nacionales e internacionales y Su trabajo ha sido exhibido en galerías y espacios de Argentina, Londres y Nueva York. ha recibido reconocimientos internacionales, incluyendo premios y menciones de International Photography Awards (IPA), National Press Photographers Association (NPPA) y Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3), entre otros.
En paralelo a su práctica artística, cuenta con una extensa experiencia en publicidad y producción de arte, colaborando con marcas y proyectos internacionales. Esta experiencia le ha permitido desarrollar una mirada particularmente sólida sobre la construcción de imágenes, la dirección estética y la narrativa visual.
Luego de muchos años viviendo en el exterior, regresó a la Argentina. A partir de esta experiencia desarrolla Tierra Madre, un proyecto de largo plazo que explora el regreso, la maternidad y las transformaciones de la identidad.
ABOUT ME
Ximena Etchart is a photographer and visual artist with over twenty years of experience. Her practice centers on portraiture and an intimate exploration of identity and everyday life. Her work is distinguished by a visual language that combines documentary sensitivity with a contemporary approach to image-making.
Educated and shaped by experiences in Argentina, London, and the United States, her practice has been deeply influenced by these different cultural contexts. She graduated from the Visual Journalism and Documentary Practice program at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York and later continued developing her photographic career in Los Angeles.
Throughout her career, her work has been published in national and international media and exhibited in galleries and cultural spaces across Argentina, London, and New York. She has received international recognition, including awards and honorable mentions from the International Photography Awards (IPA), the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), and Prix de la Photographie Paris (PX3), among others.
Alongside her artistic practice, she has extensive experience in advertising and art production, collaborating with international brands and projects. This background has enabled her to develop a particularly strong understanding of image-making, aesthetic direction, and visual storytelling.
After many years living abroad, she returned to Argentina. This experience became the starting point for Tierra Madre, an ongoing long-term project exploring return, motherhood, and the transformations of identity.
